Childcare services such as playschools and crèches in both the voluntary/not-for-profit and private sectors may be eligible for capital grants of up to €10,000 under the latest round of funding from Pobal, according to the Donegal County Childcare Committee.
Funding covers equipment, small maintenance works, accessibility and outdoor space grants, and – for voluntary/not-for-profit services only, a buildings “fit for purpose” grant to cover e.g. heating and fire safety. The grants are open to community/not-for-profit and private childcare providers/childminders who currently provide services under one or more of the following Department of Children and Youth Affairs (DCYA) funding programmes: Community Childcare Subvention (CCS) programme; Childcare Education and Training Support (CETS) programme and Free Pre-School Year in Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE).
