If you are a landlord or own a holiday home you could be facing penalties of up to €7,230 if you don’t’ settle outstanding NPPR charges before August 31st 2014.

The Non Principal Private Residence (NPPR) charge of €200 was introduced in 2009 and applies to people who owned a residential property that was not their private residence. There are some exemptions allowed for mobile homes and people involved in judicial separation or divorce.  While the NPPR was replaced with the Local Property Tax regime last year, not all owners of multiple properties complied with the NPPR charge, so could still face late payment penalties.
