Government have announced the extension of the EWSS Scheme.
For Quarter 3 (July-September 2021) they are maintaining the enhanced rates of support and the reduced rate of Employer’s PRSI.
The reference period of assessment however is changing, see details below:
New Qualifying Criteria
• the current threshold of a 30% reduction in turnover is retained
• the reference period of assessment is changing, a firm’s turnover projected in the full year, Jan-Dec 2021 will be compared against actual turnover in the full year, Jan-Dec 2019
• this disruption is caused by COVID-19.
• For Q3, there are no changes for qualification for EWSS for the childcare sector.
You are still required to undertake a review on the last day of every month to ensure your business continues to meet the eligibility criteria. If you no longer qualify, you must deregister for EWSS with effect from the following day (that being the 1st of the month).
Please note Government have approved the EWSS extension to 31.12.21, however the terms of operation may change in Quarter 4 (October-December 2021), we will keep you posted on any updates as they occur.
