The COVID-19 Pandemic Unemployment Payment (PUP) has been extended until 10 August 2020. The PUP was introduced on 24 March 2020, and is paid at a flat rate of €350 per week. However from 29 June 2020, the rate of payment will be linked to prior earnings with those who were earning less than €200 per week moving to a reduced rate. If you were earning €199.99 or less per week the new rate will be €203 per week with payments commencing on Tuesday, 7 July 2020. Those who were earning €200 or more per week will continue on €350 per week. The Temporary Wage Subsidy Scheme (TWSS) has also been extended until 31 August 2020 provided the terms and conditions are met. A change has also been made to the Temporary Wage Subsidy Scheme (TWSS) to accommodate the salaries of those who have returned to work after a period of maternity or adoptive leave and who may not have been on the payroll of their employer on 29 February, or been paid in either January or February 2020; requirements for qualification for the scheme. Revenue has agreed that this provision will be implemented from 26 March, where applicable and procedure on applying for same can be found on page 20 of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ V15) on: Guidance on the Operational phase of the COVID-19: Temporary Wage Subsidy Scheme which commenced on 4 May 2020.
