Restart Plus

Time is running out if you have not yet applied for the Restart Plus grant. The deadline is 31st October 2020, and no applications will be accepted after this date. Note, for those that received the first Restart Grant a simple online declaration is all that is required for the Restart Plus.

What is the Restart Grant Plus?

The Restart Grant Plus is a standalone grant that is available to all eligible businesses, including those who received a grant in the first Restart Grant Scheme. The grant is a contribution towards the cost of re-opening or keeping a business operational and re-connecting with employees and customers.

Please note that the closing date for the Restart Grant Plus scheme has been extended to 31st October 2020, and applications received after this date cannot be considered.

See Donegal County Council for further information: http://www.donegalcoco.ie/restartgrantscheme/restartgrantplus/

Original Restart Grant – Second chance to apply for anyone who missed out.

If you were eligible and missed out on the original Restart Grant, which ran from 22nd May 2020 to 22nd July 2020, then you should make an appeal by emailing marie.deeney@donegalcoco.ie by close of business on 31st October 2020.

Your appeal email must state the following:

I wish to submit an appeal under Restart Grant 1 as I did not have the opportunity to submit an application in advance of the early closing date of July 22nd”.

“I agree to allow Donegal County Council to use the Restart Grant Plus application form data for the purpose of processing my Restart Grant appeal and possible payment “. You must sign the email (type your name or digital signature)

Importantly the qualifying conditions of the initial scheme were different:

  • 2019 Turnover figure needs to < €5m and employee numbers < 50.
  • Charity shops, B&B’s and sport clubs were excluded.

If you have received a Restart Grant, you are reminded that the grant is a contribution to the cost of reopening your business, and you are advised to contact the Council if this will not be the case.
